Thank you for scurrying on over. Plop over and stay a while because there’s words-a-plenty, photos fantasticas, and even a few typos for the word sleuths among you.

I’m Emily and I’m desperately trying to win you over with some sort of quirky, apt self-portrait.  Let’s start with the basics:  a vegan since 2009 and vegetarian-wannabe-vegan since 2005, I consider myself a quasi-foodie and lazy photographer. Combine the two mediocre qualities and viola! Muffin Topped has emerged from the mystical internet womb.

Muffin Topped is basically an online extension of what occupies a great deal of my time: devouring sapid vegan food, whether at home or abroad. I have an insatiable wonderlust that draws me to the new; naturally, vegan edibles factor heavily into my constant explorations.

I soon will be a transplant to Paris, France as an English teaching assistant, but I’m a (Nor)Californian native to my vegan bones. I also recently studied abroad in Cannes, France so don’t be too surprised if my blog is flooded with long-lost tales of my European adventures.

I do warn you though: I suffer from a fear of concise word formations and love the magnificent rhythm of my fingers tip-tappety-typing. No big deal, you say? Read on then, you brave and lovely reader!
